
HEAD COACH: Carlo Castrechino
Carlo will be entering his 8th year as head coach of the men's varsity
soccer team. Prior to becoming head coach he served as an assistant coach
for 2 seasons under the guidance of the former Vees great and successful
coach Greg Zorbas.
Carlo owes his success as a coach to Greg and states “I learned a lot
from Greg both on the field and off the field. He was an amazing coach and
to this day I still seek his advice."
Past Laurentian teams under Carlo have been fairly successful, finishing
1st in the North/Central division twice, winning an OUA silver medal in 2000
and also making an appearance at the CIS nationals in 2000.
Carlo holds a Bachelor of Art in Geography from Laurentian and is a
former soccer player, having donned the blue and gold from 1989 to 1993. As
a player he was a member of 2 Ontario Championship teams and attended 2
national Championship tournaments, winning the bronze medal in 1991. The
1989 team was also inducted to the Voyageur Hall of Fame in 2002.
He is honored to be coaching at his hometown school and looks forward to
continuing the great success and tradition of Voyageurs men's soccer
program.

The 2006-07 men’s soccer squad will be looking to bring another OUA
championship to Laurentian University and regain its status as one of the
top university soccer programs in Canada.
