 HEAD COACH: Rob Gallo
Under Gallo’s direction, the Lady Vees soccer program has elevated itself to one of the most competitive teams in the OUA. The 2002 and 2004 Coach of the Year led the Lady Vees to their first ever appearance in the provincial final four in 2004. In six seasons of competition under Gallo, the Lady Vees have produced 50 Academic All Canadian selections and 5 OUA All Stars. In the 2005 season the Ladies finished with their best record ever 5-2-3 and hosted there very first home playoff game. Prior to being named Laurentians inaugural women's soccer head coach in August of 1999, Gallo served as the assistant coach with Loyalist College in Belleville Ontario. Gallo also had head coaching stints with both St Charles College and Lockerby Composite High School programs winning 3 City and 2 NOSSA crowns. A native of Sudbury, Gallo earned an Honours Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Laurentian in 1983. His soccer playing days included stops with Laurentian and Carleton Universities where he was part of 3 provincial championship teams and 1 National Silver medal winning team. He is also very active in the local community. He has sat on the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Care Committee, is the past President and one of the founding members of the Ten Rainbow Children’s Charity. He is presently the Administrator of the Megan’s Wings Children with cancer fund. His love for the game extends beyond the fields of Laurentian as he assists in the development of local youth players. He also has created a mentorship program for female coach’s to assist in there development as head coach’s of youth teams. Gallo holds a Level 3 National Coaching Certification and is presently working on his Level Four. Roberto and his wife, Carole, have four children and his family resides in Sudbury, Ontario.
