WSOC | Voyageurs Fall in OUA Quarterfinal
The Voyageurs Women's Soccer team's season came to an end today at the hands of the UOIT Ridgebacks. The final score of the contest in Oshawa was 2-0.
Following a scoreless first 45 minutes, highlighted by some stellar saves by Laurentian keeper Dina Mandolesi, the Ridgebacks took control of the match and never looked back. UOIT's first goal came off a corner 15 minutes into the second half. They then padded their lead with less than 20 minutes to go, dampening the hopes for an LU comeback.
This marks the second straight year that the Voyageurs' season ends in the OUA Quarter-Finals. As with every season's end, today's match marked the finale for some stellar careers with the Voyageurs. A total of seven Vee's played their final game in blue and gold, and while it wasn't the finish many had hoped for, the season was still one filled with great moments thanks to contributions from many on this roster.
