Women's XC and Indoor Track Women's cross country running begins its seventh year under the direction
of head coach, Dick Moss and assistant, Darren Jermyn. Dick has a stellar
record, having developed a number of CIS All-Stars and All-Canadians, OFSAA
medalists, national medalists and international-level athletes over the past
24 years. Darren, an accomplished runner, physiotherapist and coach, assists the
team on many fronts. In addition to coaching at the university level, Darren
is an experienced track club coach and has developed medalists at the OFSAA,
National Legion and National Completing the staff is Lisa Labrecque (Ouellet), who trains with the
team while acting as assistant coach. Lisa was a two-time member of Canada's
national team at World Cross-Country Championships and has competed for
Canada at the Yokohama Ekiden (Road-race relays). With personal bests of
4:14 in the 1500m and 9:14 in the 3000m she is also one of the best middle
distance runners in the country. Nicole Dubuc, a graduate of Laurentian's sport psychology department,
provides sport-psych support, improving issues such as team cohesion,
performance cues, pre-race anxiety, concentration and focus. Rickey Goudreau, a registered massage therapist, provides free on-site
sport massage and works in conjunction with the team trainer, Alicia Rowe. Laurentian offers outstanding coaching, miles of beautiful trails, exceptional medical and psychological support, and a fun, achievement-oriented atmosphere. And with a new 200m indoor track currently under construction, Laurentian is definitely a team on the move!
