Laurentian Athletics is proud to announce that Voyageurs guard, Kadre Gray (Toronto, ON) has been named Perkins Male Athlete of the Week.
Gray, a 4th year Health Promotion student, led the Voyageurs to a pair of victories over the weekend, in record breaking fashion. On Friday, against the seventh ranked McMaster Marauders, Gray went off for 31 points, adding nine rebounds, seven assists and six steals in the process as the Voyageurs upset the Marauders 97-85.
With his 31 points, Gray pushed his career total to 1726 and broke the Voyageurs’ long-standing career scoring record, a mark of 1722 points set by Norm Hann in 1993, and moved into the top-10 in the OUA for all-time scoring.
On Saturday, Gray followed up his record-breaking night by dropping 29 points in just 29 minutes on the Brock Badgers in a 99-86 win. Gray added six rebounds and nine assists to his stat line.
Gray now leads the country in both points (206) and assists (67). He and his teammates will be back on the court on Nov. 29th and 30th at 8pm when they visit Carleton and Ottawa to close out the semester.
