The Laurentian Voyageurs played their second of their two game series against the UQTR Patriotes this afternoon.
The first period started off well for the Voyageurs as the penalty kill unit, and specifically Russel Nowry, would start the scoring for this afternoon matchup with a short handed goal on Sebastian Auger.
The Patriotes would return the favour nearing the end of the first by scoring with just one minute left and then again with thirty seconds left. Giving UQTR the lead would be Simon Lafrance and Nicholas Lariviere.
The second period had only one goal scored and it was by the Voyageurs. Gabriel Paquin was in on a breakaway after beating the UQTR defence core and receiving a stretch pass from Jarret Meyer and beating Auger over his glove and leaving the second period at a 2-2 finish.
The third frame resulted in two more UQTR goals; one coming on the powerplay from Jordan Martel and a second from Felix Boivan. Paquin tallied his second of the afternoon late in the frame but the Voyageurs couldn't find an equaliser. Savard would finish the night with 42 saves but would come away with a loss.
The Voyageurs will visit Ryerson and Toronto for the first weekend of November.
