The Laurentian Voyageurs women's team played their second game of the weekend after travelling down to Waterloo. After dropping a shootout loss to the Warriors on Friday, the Voyageurs carried momentum into the game with the Golden Hawks.
The Vees were on an offensive tear with two goals in two periods. Tessa Marcon would be the first Voyageur to beat Cohen Myers just halfway through the first as Michele Weaver-Vitale would set her up in the high slot for a hard shot from Marcon for her first OUA goal. Karissa Hoskin would be accredited the second assist.
The second goal for the Vees would come from Megan Arnott. Arnott's goal would be the second Voyageur goal in the game and as well her second goal in two games. Natalie Lamarche and Marcon would pick up the assists.
Shanna Dolighan would remain 'ice' cold on all 17 shots faced in two frames working towards a shutout with one period remaining.
The third period for Laurier and Laurentian would hold no scoring meaning the Vees would take the game with a score of 2-0 and their first win of the season.
The Voyageurs play at home next weekend against Western and Windsor.
