It is an enormous commitment that is given when an exceptionally talented student-athlete decides to come to Laurentian University, both on the part of the individual as well as his/her parents. We at Laurentian Athletics value the commitment they have made and in return, must provide the same commitment back, ensuring the quality of the student-athlete experience. Through strong coaching, leadership, office support, and a guidance system unique to each athlete, we will ensure that each athlete will balance his/her academic responsibilities to the highest standards, while also achieving excellence at the highest standards athletically.

For the past 40 years the Voyageurs have represented Laurentian University in Ontario and Canadian University athletic competition. Founded in 1960, our small Northern Ontario University with an enrollment of under 4000 students has earned a reputation of dedication and success in men’s and women’s interuniversity athletics.

In 1999-2000 Laurentian University Athletics reaffirmed a commitment to excellence for the future of Voyageur athletic programs. The University is dedicated to providing our student athletes with the best academic and athletic programs…an opportunity to compete at the highest level in Canadian University sport under the guidance of quality coaching combined with a quality experience in the classroom preparing our student athletes for life after graduation.
