WSOC | Voyageurs Open Season With Loss at Queen's

The Voyageurs opened their 2025 campaign with a visit to Kingston to take on the Queen's Gaels.  At the final whistle, it was the Gaels who would take the victory, 5-0.

Queen's opened the game with relentless pressure, hemming the Voyageurs in their half from the opening kick, before converting a corner kick just five minutes into the match.  The pressure continued and by halftime, the score read 3-0.

In the second half, the Voyageurs made some adjustments and were able to absorb the Gaels' attack however, any counterattack they could muster was stymied by the Gaels back line.  Queen's would add a pair of goals late to close out the 5-0 scoreline.  Hunter Jones stood tall in the Voyageurs net, stopping 12 of the 17 shots she faced in the losing effort.

The Voyageurs have a quick turnaround as they get set to battle the RMC Paladins on Saturday at 12pm at Navy Bay field.
