Laurentian's winning streak finally came to a halt this weekend in St. Catherines when they were unable to upset the second ranked team in Canada, the Brock Badgers. The home team's size and length defended the paint solidly, which was an ongoing issue for the Voyageurs throughout the game.
Though trailing from the get go, Laurentian held their own in the second half, matching the Badgers' points in both the third and fourth quarter. The Badgers' victory appeared to ultimately be won by their defence, specifically in the protection of their rim seen in their 12 blocks of the game.
Top performer for the Voyageurs was veteran guard David Aromolaran who contributed 18 points. Another notable performance came from second year gurad, Kadre Gray, in his double-double consisting of 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Dani Elgadi was the top scorer for the Badgers with 21 points.
The Voyageurs will look to get back on the winning track next Friday, November 24th on home court where they'll match up against the Guelph Gryphons at 8pm.
