For their third week of OUA season action Laurentian faced off against the 2-1 Brock Badgers on home court.
After being outscored in the initial quarter 27-20, the Voyageurs held their own in the second as they matched their opponent's 25 points. However that is the closest Laurentian would get to Brock, as they continued to be out shot in the second half which ultimately resulted in a 102- 88 win for the Badgers.
A key determinant in the Voyageurs loss seemed to be a combination of shots taken and shooting percentage. The Badgers hit 58% of their 72 field goals taken, while the Voyageurs hit 47% of their 66 field goals.
It was another impressive effort for the Voyageur's third year guard Kadre Gray, as he tallied 28 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in the loss. Fifth year guard Anthony Iacoe was another key contributor for Laurentian as he added 18 points of his own.
Johneil Simpson was the leading scorer for the Badgers with 29 points.
The Voyageurs will look to shake this loss off as they prepare for tomorrow's game, where they'll match up against the McMaster Marauders in the Ben Avery Gymnasium at 8pm.
