The 6-7 Voyageurs faced off against the 10-3 University of Ottawa Gee-Gees tonight on home court. After the previous night's loss, Laurentian looked to bounce back and snatch the win from the visitors.
The seventh ranked Gee-Gees came out strong in the opening two quarters, holding an 11 point advantage over the Voyageurs' heading into the second half. However, with a high shooting percentage Laurentian was able to take the lead in the third quarter and hold onto it for the duration of the game. This resulted in an 89-80 victory in the Voyageurs' favour.
Leading the way for the Voyageurs was third year guard Kadre Gray who earned a double double with his 37 points and 11 assists. Guards Theo Thomas and Josis Mikia-Thomas each added 10 points of their own in the win.
Top scorer for the Gee-Gees was Guillaume Pépin with 20 points.
The Voyageurs will look to keep this energy up as they prepare for next weekend's double header, when they'll match up against the Ryerson University Rams and the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.
