Laurentian matched up against the Ottawa Gee-Gees tonight for their second last game of regular season play. Looking to add to their six game winning streak, the Voyageurs were eager to come away with a victory and secure the third seed in the ultra-competitive OUA East.
Laurentian came out of the gate strong, but so did the Gee-Gees. After being outscored 49-34 in the first half of the game, the Voyageurs had to bounce back in the latter half. Laurentian was able to hold their own in the third, but the Gee-Gees finished the game off strong. This ultimately resulted in a 103 -73 victory in the Gee-Gees favour.
A major issue for Laurentian was the Gee-Gees' shooting percentage. Shooting 14-25 from behind the arc, Ottawa leaned on their long range shot to rack up the victory.
Top scorer for the Gee Gees was Guillaume Papin with 21 points.
The Voyageurs have locked up the 4th seed in the East and will have a day of preparation before they face off against Carleton tomorrow for their last game of regular season play.
