Despite a competitive effort, Laurentian was unable to take a win against the University of Toronto Varsity Blues tonight in the Goldring Centre. Though baskets were exchanged throughout the game, the Varsity Blues built their lead little by little, closing out the game in the last quarter with a final score of 75-67.
Despite the loss the Voyageurs found victories in small strides of improvement throughout the game. With rebounding usually being a major weakness for the team, tonight they competed hard on the boards, earning a total of 40, just 4 shy of the home team.
Free throw conversion was likewise impressively high, as Laurentian shot 80% from the charity stripe compared to the home team's 55%. Despite the Voyageur's conversion success at the foul line, the Varsity Blues had double the visits there- a key factor in the result of the game.
