After a loss to Laurier, the Voyageurs were eager to end the weekend on a high note with a victory over the University of Waterloo Warriors.
Trailing at the half point mark, Laurentian would have to make a comeback in the following quarter- and that they did. Outscoring the Warriors 23-15, with three consecutive three point shots by Laurentian guard Andrea Zulich, the visiting team put themselves into a great position going into the final minutes. Unfortunately it seemed like the Voyageurs just didn't have the energy to finish out the game, which lead to a Warriors comeback and ultimately a victory in the home team's favour 63-61.
Top contributor for Laurentian was fifth year guard Emily Tinnes who had 17 points in the match. Fourth year guard Mackenzie Robinson added 13 points and the 9 rebounds of her own in her 40 minutes of game time.
Leading scorer for the Warriors was Kaitlyn Overeem with 15 points.
Laurentian will head back north to prepare for their final games of the first semester as they face off against the Windsor Lancers and the Western Mustangs next weekend on home court.
