Laurentian faced off against the 7th ranked Carleton Ravens tonight as they took home court for the second weekend in a row. Despite the 10-3 record of the Ravens, the Voyageurs vied for an upset.
The game opened with a strong showing from the home team, as they nearly doubled Carleton in both points and rebounds. This resulted in a 9 point lead going into the second quarter, an advantage the Voyageurs were able to carry with them for the remainder of the game. This resulted in Laurentian ultimately coming away with the victory 69-66.
Leading the charge for the Voyageurs was second year guard Bailey Tabin who tallied 23 points and nine rebounds in the match. Fourth year guard Mackenzie Robinson added a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out six assists.
Top scorer for the Ravens was Nicole Gilmore with 24 points.
Laurentian will look to keep this energy going into tomorrow's match as they take on another giant in the OUA, the 5th ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees, at the Ben Avery Gymnasium at 6pm.
