The Laurentian women's basketball team looked to start their season 2–0 at home against the Windsor Lancers, but a dominant second quarter from the visitors proved decisive as Windsor earned a 66–60 win to improve to 2–0.

The game began slowly, with both teams looking fatigued after playing the night before. The offenses combined for just six field goals in the opening quarter, with Laurentian holding a narrow 11–10 lead. After a quiet first quarter that saw just 21 total points, the pace exploded in the second. The Lancers erupted for 33 points compared to 17 from the Voyageurs, taking a commanding 15-point lead into halftime.

Early in the third quarter, a Jade Hunte three-pointer extended Windsor's lead to 21. Laurentian responded with a 9–0 run to cut the deficit to 12, but Leah Tate and Teighan Stoukas each connected from deep to restore an 18-point advantage heading into the final frame. Facing a steep uphill climb, the Voyageurs came out firing in the fourth. A 13–0 run brought the Lancers' lead down to five with under three minutes remaining, and a pair of Audrey-Anne Labrèche free throws trimmed it to three. However, Windsor managed to close out the game at the line, hanging on for the six-point win. Despite holding Windsor without a made field goal in the fourth quarter, Laurentian's comeback effort fell just short.

Turnovers proved costly, as Windsor scored 28 points off giveaways compared to just 12 for the Voyageurs. Laurentian will begin their road schedule next weekend with games in the capital against Ottawa and Carleton.
