A tough outing for the Voyageurs on Sunday as they lost by a hefty margin of 6-0 against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
Scoring started early and often for the Ridgebacks, as in the 15:02 minute of the match, Fadi Salback scored on an assist from Carlos Edic. And then, in the 26:20 minute, Elijah Lorenc-Clarke scored an unassisted goal to double the Ridgebacks' lead. Next, in the 33:56 minute, Salback scored his second of the match with an assist from Jean Paul Ajala-Alex. The second half started like the first ended, with a goal coming in the 48:39 minute when Ajala-Alex scored his second of the match on an assist from Carlos Edi. Finally, in the 52:44 minute, Ajala-Alex scored an unassisted goal to complete his hat-trick and seal the victory for Ridgebacks. The Voyageurs were simply unable to muster any offence and fell 6-0.
With a loss and a Nipissing win today, the Voyageurs have now fallen out of the final playoff spot. However, they have time to climb up the leaderboard as they welcome Queen's Gaels next Saturday, October 19. Kick off is scheduled for 2:15 pm.
